Back In The Day, Did “Woodies” Actually Have Real Wood?

We have all heard of the legendary classic cars that were considered to be “Woodies.” Sedans or station wagons that had real wood on the exterior. Or was it?

Today we see fake wood everywhere – inside the car at least. Most non-basic trims for many vehicles have fake wood on the dash or door, perhaps on the console. As far as exterior fake wood goes, it basically left in 1996 with the last Buick Roadmaster Estate.

However, as far as those classic cars to, the wood on the outisde was actually real! And you had to care for it as being real as well.

If your car, with or without fake wood, needs to have a tuneup or oil change, make sure to come in and see us.
