My New Electric Car Is Beeping, Is Something Wrong?

An interesting fact about new electric cars. If you listen close enough, you will hear beeping! And, yep, there’s nothing on the dashboard showing up, and everything seems to be working just fine.

What you have come across is the new Pedestrian Warning sound being required in the United States for electric cars. Why? Well, when electric cars are going at a slow speed, like you may find in many residential and downtown areas, pedestrians may not hear them coming as they look at the Messenger texts. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently made it mandatory to have a beeping sound audible at speeds less than 20 miles an hour.
