Trucks Will Never Have Great Gas Mileage

You would think with all of this technology and research and development going on that someone would find a way to make trucks more fuel efficient. In fact, many people jump for joy when they see their new truck will get 16-18 mpg on the highway. Then they take a moment and think, wow, my friend who just bought a Corolla is getting 32 mpg. What gives?

That being said, trucks are slowly improving their fuel efficiency. Back in 2008 the Ford F-150 was only bragging about 14 mpg on the highway. Today it is up to the industry standard of 16-18 mpg. The bottom line is that with a truck you are moving around a lot more metal and components than you are with a sedan or even an SUV.

Whatever you drive come in and make sure your fuel filter is clean. That is one way you can make sure you are getting the best fuel economy out of your vehicle, truck or car!
