Will A Phone Charger Affect My Car Battery?

A lot of people wonder, if they connect their phone charger to their car, is it going to have a negative effect on their car’s battery. The answer is – no! A car phone charger typically uses about one amp of power. Car batteries tend to last about five years and you can even leave your phone charger plugged in all the time as no power is drained if a phone is not connected to the charger.

If you would like to put it into perspective, if you charger has an LED light to let you know it is plugged in, then it will use some power when a phone is not connected, but the amount of power for the whole day would be as much as pulling your car over and putting on your flashers for ten seconds.
